Natural Lip Balm

Ingredients: beeswax, cocoa butter, coconut, vegetable glycerine, sweet almond oil, soya lecithin, vitamin e, evening primrose. Essential oils or flavour to taste.

Hot weather lip balm
(slow to melt, long wearing)

Ingredients: sweet almond oil, macadamia, grape seed oil, shea butter, coconut, candelilla and carnauba waxes, cocoa butter, vitamin e, evening primrose, lecithin. Essential oils or flavours to taste, see list below. A vegetarian friendly formula.

All of our lip balms are available in unscented, mint chocolate (real bittersweet chocolate, menthol and mint essential oil, my absolute favourite), orange chocolate (bittersweet chocolate and orange essential oil, natural orange wax), citrus bliss (essential oils of pink grapefruit, orange, lime), fresh mint (peppermint, spearmint and a touch of vanilla), coffee break (coffee infused coconut oil, coffee essential oil, vanilla), butterscotch, apple, amaretto (almond flavouring), Christmas kiss (essential oils of orange, cinnamon and clove softened with a touch of vanilla, also a perfect lip balm for fighting a cold or flu, or cavorting with those who do).

All natural waxes. A primer.

Beeswax, carnauba, candelilla, soy and orange wax all have their place in protecting, soothing, and weatherproofing. This is the part of the lip and body balm formula that tells us what climate and location the balm is optimal for.

Preparations made with soy wax are a creamy, soft consistency. They are well suited to salves, ointments, and lip balms for cold climate use, they will melt easily if left in the heat of a car window or beach bag. We blend our soy with harder waxes to give the finished product a little more heat resistance without losing the soft creamy quality of the soy wax.

Beeswax is another Nice ingredient. Beeswax brings a higher melt point to a formula complete with the pleasant smooth texture, the healing benefits of natural bee products and longer wear than a soy wax balm. A good general purpose balm is a blend of soy and beeswax with a touch of candelilla or carnauba.

Candelilla and carnauba waxes are products with an exceptionally high melt point, impart a smooth silky feel to a balm. If you’re on your way to the beach or planning a southern holiday, balms made with these natural waxes will not melt in your backpack.

There is no need to assault our lips with petroleum by products. I think our oil refinery friends have enough to do without trying to be a body care provider.
